Essential Information & Requirements
APPOINTMENTS? We require estimated Check In / Out times for our scheduling purposes. We're not available every moment of every day - please tell us if your time will be changing. We provide a cell # for updates on your pet while you're away and to let us know if your travel is delayed.
CLIMBERS/RUNNERS/JUMPERS? Please keep dogs on a short leash in the parking area/office. Please look in before you enter the office & Wait on the porch if there are other dogs being processed. Our fences are 5-6ft foot high... some are post/chicken wire, some privacy/plank, and others are 6 foot chain link. If you know your dog has ever jumped or climbed a fence please point this out to us so we can take extra precautions. We can keep them on a regular leash or a long line. FOOD? Bring their own dry food in large ziplocks with their scooper. If you forget food we can pick up local brands for a charge of $5 plus cost. Bring an appropriate amount in a gallon bags or a large Tupperware. Gallon bags hold at least 14 cups of dry food. If your dog is staying long term and needs a large quantity, please bring/purchase a large dog bin to store it in. We battle bugs and critters coming inside with kibble around for 20 dogs!
EMERGENCY? a couple of Veterinarians are less than ten minutes away. In a non-emergency situation we attempt to utilize your personal vet to save you on fees, when our schedule allows for extra travel time. After hours we use Acredale Vet in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach. Their prices are more reasonable than an emergency vet because they offer 24 hour service for a membership fee, which is more cost effective.
PARKING? Skinny driveway back to the 2 story building. Back into a space when you Arrive. There's enough for 8 vehicles so keep all Tires on top of gravel at all times. Not in the grass / mud or any where near the hydrant!
PAYMENT? We take all breeds: cash, check, credit cards, PayPal or Zelle to ChalQuest@gmail.com. Due at Check Out if your reservation is less than 2 weeks. Longer boarding is charged every 2 weeks beginning on Day 1.
PERSONNEL? We are a family run business so our schedule is adapted to our family. We occasionally need to close a few hours each week for appointments and errands. Please respect our home, schedules & time. We sacrifice much of our own travel to be here for you, therefore do not feel the need to discount our pricing. We appreciate your business, and ask that you appreciate our family's labors.
SAFETY? Your pets' safety is our highest priority therefore we do not mix separate family dog groups when they go out to the fields. This makes it possible for us to take intact animals without concern of fighting or pregnancy. If you would like socialization for your pup and we have other amenable dogs that we deem are well suited to yours, we will determine which dogs spend time together in small groups.
TIPS? Yes, we do like tips - all service providers do!
VACCINES? Records of vet-administered vaccinations must be uploaded to our system before we finalize a Reservation. Please do NOT wait to the last minute to give us the paperwork. You will be more stressed as you prepare for your get-away and we hate to turn a dog away for failure to prepare. We do not accept pictures of vaccinations bottles you buy and administer yourself. During peak vector season, March - October, we require Proof of heart worm treatment purchase or a negative HW test within 30 days of boarding.
